Vitamin C is a great protector of the bodies cells from oxidative damage.
Vitamin C helps in reducing tiredness and fatigue, and assists in the formation of collagen. Vitamin C is very important for normal energy production, and for supporting the immune system.
This non-acidic powder form is especially easy to take.
In particular, a dose of 200mg or above helps maintain the normal function of the immune system during and after intense physical exercise, the time it may be at particular risk. Vitamin C is also essential for the formation of all collagen-based basic structures in the body, as collagen is present in bones and teeth, cartilage, gums, skin and blood vessels.
Most Vitamin C capsules and tablets on the market today are very acid and can be an irritant. The alkaline powder forms, especially Sodium Ascorbate, are ideal for taking larger doses (2 or 3 grams)* for short periods to help strengthen the immune system in the face of colds etc.
*Take one – two grams daily or as advised by a practitioner. Small intakes several times a daily are more beneficial than a larger dose. This alkaline (PH 7.2) form of vitamin C should only be taken at least a half an hour after or between meals.
